Chanel Resort 2018

                                     The Modernity Of Antiquity

Karl Lagerfeld (Creative Director of Chanel, Fendi & his own eponymous label Karl Lagerfeld) has made his loyal followers travel to different parts of the world for his resort collections & this time around he took them to Ancient Greece. A breathtakingly beautiful set was created in the Galerie Courbe of the Grand Palais transporting all the guests back to Ancient Greece. Well if Lagerfeld can launch a rocket in his Fall 2017 collection for Chanel he can do anything. One of his inspirations to create the resort 2018 collection with Greek influences was a headless statue of Venus in Mademoiselle Chanel's Rue Cambon apartment & his clear love for Greece, he mentioned " I see Greece as the origin of beauty & culture".

The result was a stunning show with a modern take on the Ancient Greek antiquity. Models who looked nothing less than Greek Goddesses walked the runway in outfits with ancient coins as buttons or embedded in necklaces, column lace up heels & sun pleats trousers, pottery relief knits (Greek Pottery was very popular) metal leaves clustered in neckpieces, leaf print dresses, swimsuits, embroidered cloaks, chitons & at the same time staying true to Chanel's trademark styles there were bouclè clad models too.

So here's my version of what may have been the moodboard for Chanel's Resort 2018 collection

And these are some of my favourite looks from the show. Honestly speaking, I                                                                          LOVED EVERYTHING !!!

Finally, I'm leaving you with some backstage action before the show along with a close up view of some mesmerising details of pieces with Greek influences. Hope you love it.
